ADASC News - quick reminders and well done's
Xmas Party
A reminder to all that the ADASC Christmas party is this Sunday 20th
December at 6pm at the Rugby Club. A great opportunity for everyone
to socialise, the swimmers to have some fun together out of the
chlorine and the parents to challenge themselves to talk about
something other to each other than.......swimming........!!!!
Write
your name on the list on
the noticeboard to say you are coming and then sign up to provide a
dish, newcomers are particularly welcome!
St Brieuc - exchange
visit to France
A reminder as well that we need names for those who are interested
in joining the club in a trip to Brittany for an exchange visit with
St Brieuc Swimming Club (Aber's twinned town). This is a great,
value for money, opportunity for you and your children to get to
experience real life France. The club is hosted by the families of
St brieuc swim club and the costs are minimal once you arrive as we
are always well looked after. For more information see the attached
leaflet. The event will
include lots of activities as well as a friendly gala. It is likely
there won't be an opportunity like this for another couple of years
at least - the ferry needs to be provisionally booked at the
beginning of January so we need to have a good idea of numbers by
then. Please let Rosemary or another committee member know if you
are interested by this weekend!!!!
ADASC and Ceredigion
galas
Well done to all of you who swam recently in the ADASC and
Ceredigion Galas. Particularly well done to those of you relatively
new to the club who swam your first galas - often very daunting but
usually enjoyable when you get there!
Aberystwyth won more of the top age group trophies than any other
club in the county at the Ceredigion Championships, with age group
winners in 8 out of the 14 events. So well done to the age group
winners -
under 8 year old girls (Maeve), 9 year old boys (James), 10 year old
boys (Teilo), 10 year old girls (Nansi), 12 year old girls (Chelsey),
12 year old boys (Tomos), 13 year old girls (Lowri), 14 year old
boys (Jamie).
Well done also to all other competitors and medal winners: Guto
(2nd, 8s and under), Gethin (4th, 10 year old boys), Jonah (6th, 10
year old boys), Max (2nd, 11 year old boys), Kieron (3rd, 10 year
old boys), David Rees (5th, 11 year old boys), Fergus (7th,11 year
old boys), Isaac (2nd, 12 year old boys), Dylan Jones (3rd, 12 year
old boys), Zoe (2nd, 13 year old girls), Ruth (3rd, 14 year old
